Awareness Seminar on Drug Abuse Held at Mary Matha ITI
An awareness seminar aimed at educating students about the health and social consequences of drug abuse was organized under the auspices of the Anti-Narcotic Club at Mary Matha ITI. The event focused on instilling a strong anti-drug message among the youth, highlighting their crucial role in shaping a healthier society.
The seminar was inaugurated by Fr. Thomas Animoottil, the Foane Vicar of St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Church, Kaduthuruthy. In his keynote address, Fr. Animoottil stressed the alarming rise in narcotic use among the youth and called it a grave threat to the fabric of modern society. He urged students to remain vigilant and make informed choices that lead to a drug-free life.
The session was led by Mr. Robimon P. L., Excise Preventive Officer of Kaduthuruthy, who spoke on the topic “Drug-Free Youth: The Strength of Today’s Society.” He elaborated on the physical, psychological, and social repercussions of drug addiction and shared real-life cases to underline the severity of the issue.
The seminar witnessed active participation from students and faculty, who engaged in discussions and pledged to uphold a drug-free lifestyle. The event concluded with a strong message of collective responsibility in combating drug abuse and promoting a healthier, more resilient generation.
