Sunday, December 1, 2024

Kaduthuruthy: In observance of World AIDS Day 2024, Mary Matha ITI organized an impactful awareness program centred around this year’s theme, “Take the Right Path; My Health, My Right.” The event aimed to educate students on the importance of HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, and healthcare rights.

Smt Bindhu Philip, Associate Professor at Caritas Hospital, led the session and emphasized the importance of timely health interventions, stigma-free conversations, and individual responsibility in managing and preventing HIV/AIDS. Her address encouraged students to take informed and compassionate approaches toward public health issues.

The program was inaugurated by Fr. Ajeesh Kunjirakkattu, Principal of St. Kuriakose Public School, Pazhthuruthu. In his opening remarks, he highlighted the need for collective social responsibility in supporting those affected by HIV/AIDS and ensuring equal access to healthcare for all.

As part of the event, the Red Ribbon Club of Mary Matha ITI conducted a series of engaging activities to reinforce the message among students. These included poster making, a drawing competition, a human chain demonstration, and a quiz competition, all of which saw enthusiastic participation.

The observance of World AIDS Day served as a platform to empower students with knowledge, promote health rights, and cultivate a more empathetic and informed campus community.
