Mechanic Motor Vehicle (MMV) has a wide scope of Employability ranging from self-employment, contractual employment to Industrial jobs. On successful completion of this course, the candidates shall be gainfully employed in the automobile industries, service stations and workshops.

Mechanic repairs overhauls and services motor vehicles to keep them in good running condition. Examines vehicle to ascertain nature and location of defects either by running engine or driving vehicle on road. Dismantles partially or completely defective unit or parts of vehicle such as engine, gear box, rear axle, front axle, steering assembly, radiator, etc. according to nature of repairs to be done, using hoist, jack, pullers, hand tools and other devices. Measures essential parts like cylinder, bores piston, sizes crank pins etc. using gauges, micrometer and other precision tools and gets cylinders re-bored, liners filled, valve seats refaced, bearings re-metaled etc. as necessary. Repairs or overhauls and assembles engine by performing tasks similar to those of Mechanic Petrol or Diesel Engine such as replacing defective parts, scrapping bearings, grinding valves, setting timing, cleaning injectors, tuning carburetor etc. according to maker's specification. Replaces or repairs defective parts of gear box, rear axle, steering mechanism etc. and sets them right ensuring correct alignment, clearance, meshing of gears, specified movements and operations. Relines and builds brakes, sets wheel alignment, adjust, steering, clutch, hand brakes etc. fits new or repaired accessories and body parts, makes electrical connection, and performs other tasks to effect repairs. Lubricates, joints, tightens loose parts, tests performance of vehicle by driving on road and makes necessary adjustments to attain desired standard. May assemble complete vehicle from finished components.

Admission

Normally the admission to NCVT courses is accepted during the months of June, and July. The dates will be updated at the 'Notice board' of our website.

The students shall visit our institute and fill up a form to understand their passion for a trade. They are, then, taken for a tour of our campus to familiarize with the various trades and laboratories. It is beneficial to the students and their parents to make a firm decision on the type of trade they would be joining. The prospectus and application form will be available from the office or you can download it from our website.

The application form duly completed should be submitted along with the following documents.

  1. Attested Copies of the Xth class (first page containing date of birth and page with marks secured by the applicant)
  2. One copy each of any other certificate(s), showing any additional qualification(s) the applicant possesses. (This includes extra-curricular activities also)
  3. One copies each of the caste certificates, in case of applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Other Eligible Community.
  4. One copy of Aadhar.

The filled in application form along with the necessary documents shall be submitted to the

Mode of Selection

Selection is purely on merit based on the mark secured by the candidate in the public examination of the minimum qualification prescribed for the individual trade. Wherever there is no public examination at the minimum qualification level the merit may be made on the marks obtained by the written examination conducted by the state directorate for the purpose of admission.

All applicants, who have submitted applications with all necessary enclosures, without any mistake or omission and possess the minimum required qualification(s), will be called for an interview. Candidates should be accompanied by their parent/guardian at the time of admission/interview.

Candidates selected in the interview shall be given admission to the trade / course to which he /she is selected, on remittance of the prescribed fees such as admission fee, first instalment of tuition fee, special fee, caution deposit and any other fees prescribed in the fee schedule. Originals of all Certificates shall be submitted to the Principal, at the time of admission. Students shall collect uniform cloth and make arrangements to stitch them before the commencement of the classes.

The normal commencement date is immediately after the completion of the final examinations conducted by the DGT, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Government of India. However, the Institute shall intimate the commencement date. Students with their parents shall come to the Institute for the first day – a day of orientation.
