Rules & Regulations

The administration of Mary Matha Privet ITI has framed certain norms, rules and regulations for the students. These rules are mandatory to maintain the high quality of standard and discipline in the institute. The Institute reserve the right to amend, modify and change the norms, rules & regulations from time to time. Full rights are reserved with the Manager / Principal / Management to take action against the students in case of violation of the given guidelines.

Fees

  1. Fees should be paid in eight instalments.
  2. Those who fail to remit the fee on due date will be required to pay the same before the end of the month with the fine of Rs. 10 and after that at the rate of Rs. 5 for every following day .
  3. No student shall be allowed to attend the class, if he fails to remit the fee before the end of the instalment month.
  4. Fees once paid will not be refunded or transferred under any circumstances.
  5. Students are not allowed to sit for the final examination unless all dues are cleared.
  6. After the admission a student or his parent/guardian is bound to pay the entire amount of fees even if the student terminates his course at the institute before the due time. This is strictly required for obtaining from the office all the certificates and papers connected with his career.

Leave and attendance

  1. No student will be allowed to absent himself from the class without proper leave letter from guardian.
  2. Application for leave should be submitted in advance.
  3. In case of illness prolonging more than one week a medical certificate issued by a medical officer should be produced.
  4. The trainee on leave under medical ground will be admitted to the class only after producing the Medical Fitness Certificate in the proper form.
  5. A student who absents himself from the class during any hour of the day, without leave, will be considered absent for the whole day and will lose one day’s attendance.
  6. Late comers will not be allowed to enter the class
  7. Students are not allowed to leave the class room without the permission of the teacher in charge.
  8. Each trainee must have a minimum of 80% attendance, failing which he/she will not be remitted to attend the All India Trade Test.

Dress, Behaviour & Discipline

  1. All the trainees are required to wear uniform and working dress from the very first working day itself.
  2. It is a strict condition that a trainee will be allowed to enter the institution only with the prescribed uniform, stitched, as per the direction of the Principal.
  3. Working dress should be worn in workshops.
  4. The trainees should come to the Institute clean and tidy.
  5. The materials, tools, instruments etc. should not be taken out of the Institute.
  6. The trainees are expected to keep the class room and workshop clean and order, the tools and instruments in their proper places, before leaving the premises at the end of each shift or working day.
  7. While leaving the classroom, it is the duty of the students to close the windows, switch off the fans and lights etc. arrange the chairs properly and then leave the classroom.
  8. Any missing or damage done to the furniture, instruments, tools etc. will have to be made good otherwise; the replacement cost will be recovered from the trainees immediately.
  9. The trainees are advised not to take part in strikes, political or other organization likely to result in violence or communal disturbance.
  10. As per the rules and regulations of the competent authority, use of mobile phones in the Institute/College campus is not allowed.
  11. It is your responsibility to read notices on the notice boards for the latest activities / instructions by the Institution.
  12. Disciplinary action which may lead to dismissal will be taken for irregular attendance, habitual idleness, negligence of homework, disobedience, dishonesty etc.

Examination

  1. We are maintaining Monthly and Quarterly progress card. The Card should be signed by the Guardian of the trainee.
  2. No students shall be allowed to appear at the final exam/All India Trade Test unless he has 80% attendance in his classes.
  3. If candidate have 80% attendance in each subject. For any reason he is unable to attend the exam then with the permission of principal he would be eligible for appear in exam for next year.
  4. A trainee whose attendance is below 80% can take admission in the next year with the permission of principal.
  5. The student should collect all original / relevant documents from the institute within a span of 3 months from the date of completion of his course.
  6. The Institute, NCVT and other regulatary bodies are taking series of efforts for the overall holistic development of the students, In this regards we also receive regular circulars, suggestions and guidelines from the various competent authorities such as National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), Ministry of Labour, Directorate General of Employment & Training, Government of India, etc. It is mandatory for all the students to take active participation in all such activities for your self development and for creating the strong foundation for better professional career options leading to success in your respective careers.

Grievance redressal cell

Mary Matha ITI have an Informal grievance redressal system to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the students, their parents and staff members in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute.

Anyone with a genuine grievance (complaints/suggestions) may approach the Manager or Principal in person. In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letterbox/ suggestion box of the Grievance Cell at our ITI office or e-mail to the office address.

The Grievances may broadly include matters on Academics or regarding harassment, Teaching methods, Facilities etc, but shall not be covering the following areas.

  • Decision of the Patron /Director regarding the policy matters on running the Institute.
  • Decision with regard to award of Scholarship, Fee concessions, Awards etc.
  • Decision of the NCVT,Govt. of Kerala/Industrial Training Department regarding the running of the Institute/Course like Admission matters, course content, examinations etc.

The Grievance/complaints/Suggestions received shall be examined by a committee consisting of at least two persons nominated by the Manager. The committee shall examine the grievances within one week and a decision regarding the same shall be communicated to the concerned person. If required the committee can call the aggrieved person personally to the ITI Office for a personal hearing. Depending on the nature of the Grievance Director can modify the redressal mechanism. The decision of the Director shall be final and binding on all the concerned. The students can also meet the Principal or Manager personally during working hours of the Institute to represent on any matter concerning the working of the Institute.
